Pete(r) Cunningham is a journalist originally from Tecumseh, MI. He currently covers sports for AnnArbor.com.

Cunningham graduated from Tecumseh High School in 2002 and from the University ofmug-shot.JPGmug-shot.JPG Toronto in 2006 with an honors bachelor of science degree in psychology and English. While at U of T, Cunningham learned an honors degree simply means you had two majors and indicates nothing about your academic standing (stupid jokes are how he copes with the awkwardness of writing in the third person.)

Cunningham wrote for both The Varsity and The Newspaper: U of T’s Independent Weekly at U of T. He voted in the 2006 Canadian General Election with the subsequent story garnering national attention and nearly landing him in jail.

Cunningham’s first professional journalism job was as news editor at The Homer Index in Homer, MI where his responsibilities included sports and news coverage, page design, website management, delivering papers and everything in between.

Before working at The Index, Cunningham lived in Lexington, KY where he was a substitute teacher and an assistant wrestling coach at Tates Creek High School.

Cunningham is currently working as a sports writer for AnnArbor.com. His work has been published in the Detroit Free Press, Oakland Press, The Ann Arbor Observer, Journal Newspapers, Milan News-Leader, Saline Reporter, Michigan Press Association’s The Bulletin, Michigan.scout.com and GoBlueWolverive The Magazine.

On the side, Cunningham enjoys soccer and wrestling. He was once the holder of multiple wrestling records at Tecumseh High School, but they have all since been broken and he has moved on.
